How to Activate Quantity & Value Updating SAP S4 Hana
It is one of the important configuration steps in SAP S4 Hana that we need to activate the quantity and Value updating field in the Material type for every company code. If you don’t activate the Quantity/Value Updating fields for the company code, the system throws an error during the creation of Purchase Requisition, and Purchase Orders in the SAP S4 Hana system.
- Quantity updating and value updating configuration is done with a combination of valuation area (plant) and material type
Configuration Steps
In this Configuration, we have given the complete step-by-step procedure on how to activate the Quantity/Value Updating in SAP S4 Hana.
- IMG Path: Logistics-General -> Material-Master -> Basic-Settings -> Material Types -> Define attributes of material types
- Tranasaction Code: OMS2
Step 1: Execute the transaction code “OMS2” or follow the IMG Path and execute the IMG Activity “Define attributes of Material Types“
Step 2: On the “Change view Material Types” overview screen, select the material type that you want to update the quantity and value updating fields and click on Quantity/Value updating
Step 3: On the change view “Quantity/ Value updating” overview screen, navigate to valuation area AP01 and activate the fields Value Updating and Quantity Updating for the Valuation Area AP01.
Click on the save icon and save the details.
Similarly, update the Qty and Value updating fields for other material types.
