How to Define Industry Sectors in SAP S4 Hana
Industry sectors in SAP define the branch of industry to which the material is assigned.
You can define industry Sectors in SAP S4 Hana by using executing transaction code “OMS3” or menu path.

- Transaction Code: OMS3
Refer below step by step procedure to create new industry sections in the SAP S/4 Hana system
Step 1: Enter transaction code “OMS3” in the command field to define industry sectors and enter to continue.
Step 2: On change view “Industry Sectors” overview screen, displays defined industry sectors in SAP S4 Hana system. You create a new industry sector using copy as a function or new entries.
Here we are going to maintain industry sectors using new entries. So click on the new entries button to define a new industry section in the SAP S4 Hana system as per the requirements of an organization.
Step 3: In the next screen, new entries update the following fields
- Industry Sector – Update a new key that defines the Industry Sector in SAP S4Hana
- Industry Description – Update the description for the newly created industry sector
- Field reference: Update the field reference key for material master.
After maintaining details for industry sectors, click on the save button and save the created industry sectors in the SAP S4Hana system.
