Resource types are used to combine or group the resources which are having similar technical and physical qualifications.
Requirements to define Resource Types
- Define Bin Access Type
- Define HU Type Groups
- Define Layout Types { Required only to specify layout for resource type}
How to define Resource Types
You can define resource types in SAP S/4Hana EWM by using the following configuration steps:
IMG Path: SCM Extended Warehouse Management > Extended Warehouse Management > Cross-Process Settings > Resource Management > Define Resource Type
Step 1: Execute transaction code “SPRO” and choose the option “SAP Reference IMG”
Step 2: Follow the navigation IMG Path and execute the IMG activity of “Define Resource Type”
Step 3: On the change view “Define Resource Types” Overview screen, click on the new entries option to define the resource types
Step 4: On new entries of the Resource type screen, update the following details.
- Warehouse Number: Enter the Embedded EWM Warehouse number
- Rsrce Type: Enter the 4 character alphanumerical key that defines the resource type
- Description: Update the description of resource Type
Assign Bin Access Types to Resource Type
Step 5: Now select block and double click on Assign Bin Access Types.
On the Change, view the Assign Bin Access Types Overview screen, click on the new entries option.
Now enter the Bin Access Type key in the given field Acc. Type and press enter to continue.
Assign HU Type Groups to Resource Types
Step 6: Double click on the Assign HU Type group for assigning to Resource Types. Now on the Change view “Assign HU Types Groups” Overview screen, click on the new entries option
On New entries of the Assign HU Types group screen, enter the Handling Unit Type Group Key in the given field HUTGr
After maintaining the Resource types and assignment of Bin Access Types and HU Type groups to Resource Types, click on the Save button and save the details.
