Plant (Valuation Area) in SAP Hana is an important organizational unit where all the procurement process, planning, and distribution of goods and services take place.
Plant in SAP S/4Hana – Scenarios
- The plant is always assigned to a company code to form an organizational structure
- One plant can be assigned to only one company code
- The inventories stored at the plant level can be evaluated at a plant level
How to define plant in SAP Hana
You can define a plant in the SAP S4Hana system, by using the following configuration step
- IMG Menu Path: Enterprise Structure -> Definition -> Logistics-General -> Define, Copy, Delete, Check Plant
- Transaction Code: OX10
Step 1: From SAP Easy Access Screen, enter the SAP transaction code “OX10” in the SAP command field and press enter to continue.
Step 2: On the change view plants overview screen, it displays a list of plants that are created in the SAP Hana system. You can define a new plant by copying the existing plant or using the new entries option.
Click on the “New Entries” Option to define the plant in SAP Hana.
Step 3: On the new entries screen, enter the following
- Plant: Enter the plant key that defines the plant in the SAP S4Hana system.
- Name 1: Enter the name of the Plant
- Factory Calendar: The factory calendar consists no of working days, holidays, etc. You can choose the country-based Factory calendar key from the list
Note: From this screen, you are not allowed to maintain the complete address details of the plant, so you need to update the details through the address tab.
After entering the details of plant and Name1, click on the address tab to update the address details.
Step 4: On Edit Address details of Plant, update the following details
Name: –
- Title: choose the title of the plant – you can choose a plant from the dropdown list
- Name: Enter the name of the plant
Street Address: Update address details of plant with street/ house number, postal code/city, country key, and region.
PO Box Address
- PO Box: Update the PO Box number, where the company is located
- Postal Code: Update the postal code
- Company Postal code: Update the details of the company postcode.
Communication
- Under communication address details of the plant of Language, Telephone, Mobile number, Fax, E-Mail, Standard method, and comments.
After maintaining all the required details, press the enter key to continue.
Now click on the save icon, to save the details. You are prompted to customize the request number, choose or create the request number and save details in the SAP Hana system.
Successfully we have defined a new plant in the SAP S/4Hana system. The address details of the plant are automatically filled on the plant screen.
